The SBI12-LLD, a Redarc Smart Start Disconnect Battery Isolator, is purpose-built for lithium battery applications (LiFePO4). Its primary function is to safeguard the battery against excessive discharge caused by auxiliary loads, ensuring it remains above the threshold where internal protection circuitry activates. This is crucial, as dropping below this threshold could disrupt the charging process by many chargers. In simple terms, the Disconnect Isolator disables any connected loads when the auxiliary battery experiences excessive discharge. Conversely, once the battery level returns to an appropriate level, the Disconnect Isolator restores power to the connected loads.
